Hi everyone, I'm writing this still a bit shaken from what happened last night and honestly just curious if anyone else has figured out the secret to getting help during the odd hours when nothing seems to be open. I was leaving a friend's place in Khalifa City around 1am and when I went to start my car, absolutely nothing happened. No clicking sound, no lights on the dashboard, just complete silence like the battery was completely dead. I tried jumping it with the portable booster I keep in my glove box but even that didn't work which made me think maybe it's something more serious like the alternator or a blown fuse. The real issue started when I tried calling a few numbers I had saved from previous incidents. The first two went straight to voicemail saying they were closed until 8am, and the third one actually picked up but told me it would be at least three hours before anyone could reach me because all their drivers were busy. I was stuck in a dark parking lot feeling pretty helpless and my phone was down to twelve percent battery so I couldn't just keep scrolling endlessly looking for options. Eventually I remembered that a coworker had mentioned something about 24/7 roadside assistance Abu Dhabi that operates through the night without ridiculous wait times. I found their contact info after digging through an old email and decided to give it a shot even though I wasn't very hopeful at that point. To my surprise, a real person answered after just two rings and asked for my location and a quick description of what was happening. He said a technician would be there in about forty five minutes and the guy actually showed up in thirty five which felt like a miracle at two in the morning. He figured out pretty quickly that my battery terminals were corroded and cleaned them up enough to get me started as a temporary fix so I could at least drive home safely. Now I'm wondering if anyone else has a go to company they trust for late night emergencies because I really don't want to be stuck in that situation again without a reliable backup plan. Do most people just rely on their insurance or do you keep a separate service in mind for things like this? I'd love to hear what works for everyone else especially if you've had good experiences with specific companies during odd hours. Thanks so much for any advice you can share.
