COURSE DESCRIPTION
The objective of Management of IS project course is to develop the students' understanding of the issues involved in managing Information Systems projects and gain knowledge and skills how to plan, organise and control of the IT-project implementation so that the project is completed as successfully as possible in spite of all the risks.
Learn the fundamentals and best practices of project management methodology as applied to IT initiatives, and practice and master the skills you need to deliver IT projects on time, within budget, and to specification.
The course imparts practical knowledge of the skills and techniques used to manage information systems projects. The success of many organisations depends on their ability to harness the power of information technology, but many information systems implemented by organisations either fail completely or do not live up to their potential.
Project managers need many skills above and beyond the technical skills required to implement information systems. Management of time, scope and cost are vital, as are the “soft” skills of managing the team and communicating with the stakeholders.
