Glossary


1.   Clone –  is an organism that's genetically identical to another organism.

2.   Conditionals – describe the result of something that might happen (in the present or future) or might have happened but didn't (in the past) . They are made using different English verb tenses.

3.   Digital divide – Digital divide is a term that refers to the gap between demographics and regions that have access to modern information and communications technology, and those that don't or have restricted access. This technology can include the telephone, television, personal computers and the Internet.

4.   Famous – someone or something that is very well known by a lot of people.

5.   Future Simple – a verb tense that's used to talk about things that haven't happened yet. Use the simple future to talk about an action or condition that will begin and end in the future.

6.   Gadget – a small technological object (such as a device or an appliance) that has a particular function.

7.   Graph – a structure amounting to a set of objects in which some pairs of the objects are in some sense "related".

8.   High tech – using the most advanced and developed machines and methods.

9.   If-claus – is a conditional sentence.

10.   An internationalism or international word is a loanword that occurs in several languages (that is, translingually) with the same or at least similar meaning and etymology.

11.   Linking word – used as a term to denote a class of English words which are employed to link or connect parts of speech or even whole sentences. They are also called connecting words.

12.   Main claus – a group of words made up of a subject and a predicate that together express a complete concept.

13.   Opinion article – an article, usually published in a newspaper or magazine, that mainly reflects the author's opinion about a subject.

14.   Popular – liked, enjoyed, or admired by many people or by most people in a particular group.

15.   Present Simple – a verb tense with two main uses. We use the simple present tense when an action is happening right now, or when it happens regularly (or unceasingly, which is why it’s sometimes called present indefinite).

16.   Science – a systematic enterprise that builds and organizes knowledge in the form of testable explanations and predictions about the universe.

17.   Simulated reality – the hypothesis that reality could be simulated—for example by quantum computer simulation—to a degree indistinguishable from "true" reality.

18.   Surf – look something in the Internet.
