DSG hesitation when pulling away from a complete stop, normal or not?

I recently bought a 2016 A3 with the 7 speed DSG and I'm still getting used to how a dual clutch behaves compared to a traditional automatic, so I'm hoping someone can tell me if what I'm experiencing is normal or a sign of trouble. When I come to a complete stop and then try to pull away smoothly, there's a slight delay of maybe half a second where nothing happens and then the clutches engage and the car moves off fine, but it makes roundabouts and busy intersections a bit nerve wracking because you can't really creep forward the way you would with a torque converter auto. I've read that some hesitation is inherent to DSGs because it's basically a manual gearbox with automated clutches, but I've also read that excessive delay or jerkiness means the mechatronic is on its way out. The car's only done 90k and the previous owner said he never had any gearbox issues, but he also didn't do a DSG service at 60k like you're supposed to which has me worried. I found http:auditransmissionrepair.ae while reading up on DSG behavior and now I'm paranoid that the missed service has caused premature clutch wear. For those of you who drive DSG equipped Audis daily, how much lag from a standstill is considered acceptable before it crosses into needing attention?
