  • Course description

    The course is aimed at getting strong theoretical knowledge in - innovation, - entrepreneurship, - organizational theory, - management in relation to information systems as well as understanding both the evolution of the companies and possible routes of their rapid future development. The course develops skills in innovations, entrepreneurship and developing business plan.

     


  • Topic 1. The introduction to Innovation and Entrepreneurship course

  • Topic 3. The concept of Business Idea and Business reconfiguration

    Group assignment: Think and may be develop business idea (in class assignment + discussion). 

    Create Business Model applying “Canvas Model” (group assignment outside the class).


  • Topic 4. Introduction to the Analysis of Business Processes

    Lecture “Company Business processes”

    Group assignment: think about business processes for created business idea and define which of them are important (in class assignment + discussion).

    Group assignment: Develop business processes for created business idea (outside class assignment+presentation + discussion).


  • Topic 5. Practical tools to evaluate entrepreneurial opportunities

    Pre-class reading.

    Discussions “What is it entrepreneurial opportunity?” “How external and internal environment of the company can be evaluated?”

    Group assignments: Analyze company internal  (Zara: Fast Fashion) and external environment (Global Wine Wars: New World Challenges Old) (in class assignment + discussion).


  • Topic 6. Developing business plan for innovative idea

  • Project

    To develop business plan for the innovative idea. 

    Implementation of information system is a requirement.

    Required Units are going to be presented.

      • Assessment methods, criteria and regime

        -       Class participation 30% (participation and presentation of minimum 2 case studies and three in-class discussions)

        - Project 40% (Preparation of the project 70% and its presentation (30%)). The group responsible for the project will get the total grade. Students will distribute the grade among the group members internally.

        - Written exam 30%
